I usually try a product at least for a month before deciding if I like it or not. Being a sucker for natural products, I keep my eyes open for any new products which are natural, affordable yet do not compromise on the quality. These are my own finds and I am no way sponsored by these companies, though I would not mind if they do decide to do it 🙂
My latest find is the Tooth and Gum Powder with Activated Charcoal from inVitamin. It is a natural company which produces unique products with quality ingredients.
The powder comes in three flavors. Spearmint, Cinnamint and Citrus. I am a minty girl so ordered the one in Spearmint. Like in the pictures, it does look like pure powdered charcoal powder. From the website the ingredients are as follows:
Activated Charcoal: An antibacterial and antifungal powder that’s excellent for gum health and sensitive teeth. Charcoal powder has shown to absorb bacteria, toxins and heavy metals in the mouth. It helps counteract bad breath and cleans your teeth naturally for a brighter, healthier smile.
Bentonite Clay: Mild, natural abrasive that gently scrubs and polishes teeth, and binds to draw out toxins in the mouth.
Organic Orris Root Powder: Contains myristic acid, a known antibacterial agent, making the root powder especially effective in tooth pastes and powders.
Organic Myrrh Gum Powder: Contains highly antiseptic properties and is excellent for overall oral health; non-abrasive and helps to gently tone the gums.
Organic Hibiscus Petal Powder: Sweet-sour herb with astringent, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties; soothes and helps combat gum soreness and inflammation.
Organic Stevia Leaf Powder: Natural sweetener that complements the tartness of the Organic Hibiscus Powder without fostering bacteria that can lead to tooth decay.
Organic Peppermint, Cinnamon and/or Orange Essential Oils & Extracts: Provides antibacterial, antiseptic, and pain-relieving properties, and acts as excellent breath fresheners
I was a bit hesitant putting in my mouth since I didn’t how it would taste and what to expect. Surprisingly it has a nice sweet minty taste thanks to stevia and essential oils. You are supposed to wet your brush and then using the spoon provided, sprinkle some powder on the brush. Brush gently for at least 3 minutes. I will not lie, it is messy, but I am willing to deal with it since the product is really good.
You can use it everyday, however, if you have sensitive teeth, use it sparingly. It does not stain the teeth in fact makes your pearly yellows, white.
