“APRIL” is Autism Awareness Month.
2nd April is the World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD).
It was recognized by the United Nations in 2007. The main aim on this specific day and for the rest of the month is for Autism organizations all over the world to come together and research and diagnose and find answers to questions along with bringing awareness about this specific disorder.
This year the white house was illuminated with blue lights in support for Autism.
We all know at least one friend or family member who has been affected by Autism, but even today there are a lot of people who do not understand what is means to have Autism.
Here is a small video which will help get a better understanding of Autism called “AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN“.
All My Stripes: A Story for Children with Autism is a beautiful kids story book which helps young minds understand why some kids are different. It gives a view of how differently kids on the spectrum view the world and what makes them unique.

While kids and parents of the kids on the spectrum will relate to the video and the books, it is equally helpful for parents of kids not on the spectrum to learn about Autism and see what does the daily life of an Autistic kid looks like. This is an excellent book for young kids who don’t exacly understand the meaning of Autism.
With Autism spreading such a fast rate globally, awareness is very important. It is crucial to educate each other and to spread the word and help to make the lives of all kids meaningful and bright.
