This is hands down one of the best kids trilogy ever written. The story revolves around a boy Elmer Elevator and a baby dragon Boris.
The first book “My Father’s Dragon” is about a young boy Elmer Elevator who rescues a baby dragon from Wild Island on recommendation of his friend the alley cat. It is adventurous, fun and full of suspense with loads of action and humor.
The second book “Elmer and the Dragon” follows the adventures of Elmer and the dragon as they head back to Elmer’s home after a two-week long journey. It talks about the struggles the dragon faces to settle in and how Elmer helps him. We also read about the hilarious canarys of Feather Island and how Elmer and the dragon solve their problem.
The third and last book “The Dragon of Blue Island” is the most intense read. The dragon heads back to his own home only to find his family in trouble. He comes back and asks Elmer to help him.The non-stop action will keep your kids highly entertained.
My kids loved all three books. The illustrations were spot on and made the story more fun to read. There is a big map at the beginning which is a perfect illustration of the adventure. Whether the kids are able to read it themselves or hear it being read to them, it sure will become one of their favorite books and trust me the adults will enjoy it equally. Do read this book.
