THE WEEK IN 5- #4

The week started off with a burst of energy thanks to the warm beautiful sunshine but slowly gave way to the clouds, thunder and rain making it all murky and dull which has its own charm, especially during the winters.

This week the 5 things I really enjoyed are:

1. THE TEA WHICH MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH HERBAL TEAS:

this week in 5. harney and sons, peppermint tea, tea

HARNEY & SONS PEPPERMINT TEA

You can read about it in detail HERE.

2.  SOMETHING TANGY FOR THIS COLD WEATHER:

Yummy Garbanzo Salad

ALOO CHANNA CHAAT (POTATO & GARBANZO SALAD)

This warm dish can be served both as an appetizer or a snack and can be made fairly quickly. Click HERE for detailed recipe.

3. THE QUOTE WHICH STUCK WITH ME AND WILL MAKE YOU THINK TOO:

this week in 5, henry david thoreau

4. MY GREEN PURCHASE:

STAINLESS STEEL STRAW, THIS WEEK IN 5

SIPWELL STAINLESS STEEL DRINKING STRAWS

Straws are a must in our home. My kids love using straws for everything.  A 100-pack of plastic straws would not even last a month. Earlier this year we decided to make small changes to make our lives more clean and green.  After reading about plastic and its hazards we decided that something needed to be done.

We switched to Sipwell Stainless Steel Straws so now there is no more plastic straw waste. These straws come in a pack of 4 with a tiny cleaning brush which fits perfectly.

We have been using them for almost a year now and there is no wear or discoloration and no metallic taste and the best part is that they are reusable so no more polluting with plastic straws.

5.  THE MOST UNUSUAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT:

THIS WEEK IN 5, HANDPAN, SAM MAHER,

HANDPAN

A few weeks back I was searching for some topic when by mistake I wrote the word HandPan and out of nowhere, this strange disc thing appeared on my screen. I had no idea what it was, and how this strange looking thing could make music so I put my online searching skills to use and dug deeper.

I saw a lot of videos of people playing this instrument but best of the lot is this one by Sam Maher which I have been enjoying non-stop for the past few days. So serene yet uplifting.

Now, if only I could get my hands on a handpan too…..
