Summer is almost over.

Well not technically….

But for most of us it seems to be over once the ads for “Back to School” start popping up everywhere.

That somehow seems to be the unofficial yet official trigger for our family that the countdown to the end of summer has begun.

Suddenly there is a strange chaotic panic and everything, which, if it ever did exist, seems to go awry.

The thing is that some of us, including myself, wait till the very last minute to get things done and if they don’t go as planned (which happens oh so often) get super stressed and mess up whatever calmness is left in our body.

So what can you do now to enjoy the last stretch of summer, be mindful and present and also be prepared for Fall all in a calm-ly fashion?

Here are a few things for a smooth season transition.

1 .DO A BRAIN BARF:

"5

Give everything going on in your head a visual presence. Write down whatever is lingering inside your head on a piece of paper or your electronic device. You will end up with routine things like decluttering, meal planning, grocery shopping but you will be surprised to see other things make their way onto your list which have been, forever, silently lingering on in the background like a low hum. It can be a phonecall/lunch date forever promised or an email reply which was supposed to be sent eons ago.

Now that everything is right in front of you, attend to it. For starters, begin with prioritizing the tasks on the list. Next, if other people share the responsibilities with you, assign them to the right person and finally attach a deadline to it.

Trust me just doing this simple exercise, will create a massive empty breathing space in your head.
